This is the start of the world of blogging for the McClain family, and since its the first post what better way than to start from the beginning on how the McClain Nest started! Halloween night in 2005 was when I unofficially met Jared...yes this pic is from the next year but you get the idea...he bought me a drink, I forgot to thank him, asked Michelle for his number and ~poof~ the dating began....

On January 20, 2007, Jared proposed in the middle of the Portland waterfront fountain (turned off mind you) after a yummy dinner on the Portland Spirit...I was totally suprised and he was so nervous....not sure why, I immediately said YES, no hesitation... I knew I was going to married him 2 months after dating!

After 1 year and maybe a month and a half of wonderful wedded bliss...ya ya ya we had our moments too, doesn't everyone..... I found myself feeling kinda, shall we say, funny. I told Jared I thought I might be pregnant and he told me "No, your not pregnant, I will tell you when your pregnant, I will know before you".... THIS specific moment in our marriage I WILL never forget....not just because he had no idea what he was talking about but it was my body and he was going to tell me!?! Oh my silly silly man..........little did he know about 3 days later, those two pink lines were looking back at us and we were both THRILLED!!!!

About a month before our little girl is born with the hat that I ordered of etsy that was way too big for her small newborn head, it was still cute though
And on August 8, 2009 (my ACTUAL due date!) Zoey Grace McClain came into our lives!






This is us in a nut shell, the McClain Nest... I promise to do my best to keep everyone updated on our little zoey-bee as she is growing and changing every minute but lets face it, it really might not happen :)
